Put Your Mind to Rest with an RV Inspection

An RV Inspection is a layer of protection when making your purchase.

Should I get an RV Inspection?

Whether new or used, paying cash or financing, an RV Inspection will be worth it's weight in gold when it comes to getting a full picture of your potential new RV.

Don't Dealerships already do Inspections?

Let's face it, Dealerships are focused more on sales. You'll find as many as 2-3x more salespeople at a dealership compared to technicians.

Even if an internal inspection on the RV is done, that doesn't mean the RV is free of issues or that the dealership resolved any of the non-safety issues.

Why go with an RV Certified Inspector?

RV Certified Inspector's have more than just "RV Experience". We are committed to a set of standards and ethics, and are required to pass several exams on the way to certification to ensure we have the knowledge to inspect an RV well beyond any other individual or organization .

About Us

PDI RV was founded to help make the RV buying process easier, more transparent, and hassle free! Our high quality, detailed RV Inspection reports, will help give you piece of mind when making such an important purchase.

Even an experienced RV owner may know some of the obvious signs of issues when inspecting an RV. Let us do a complete top to bottom, front to back inspection of every inch of the RV you're looking to buy to help provide you with all the information you need to make an educated purchase.

How are we different?

  • We use padding on anything that touches the RV. Many competitors lean their ladders right against the RV!
  • We utilize a bore scope to get access to hard to reach areas.
  • We use a non-invasive moisture meter for reference when detecting leaks.
  • We use several highly accurate thermometers, not just a single food one.
  • We use a 7-pin connector tester for testing tow hitches. We've seen just a handful of these used by other competitors. How do they properly test the hitch functionality of the RV!
  • We have an air gauge accurate to 150+ PSI. Many use a gauge capable of 100 PSI which doesn't work for many fifth wheels and motorhomes.
  • While most dealerships won't let an inspector test drive a motorhome, we run the engine for an extended period of time, which among many things, allows us to verify temperatures of the engine and transmission, which can help diagnose many issues you'd encounter long after a test drive.
  • If you have a leveling system, we're using the highest quality jack pads. Many competitors use no jack pads, or cheap ones often not suited for a larger RV/motorhome.
  • We chock the RV's tires during the inspection.
  • We will use a thermal camera if necessary to verify potential air seal leaks, or anything else that might need an accurate visual of the difference in temperature.
  • We have an induction trivet, which makes testing induction stovetops much easier.
  • We use an RMS multimeter, capable of 1000A amps. Many competitors use inaccurate meters capable of just 15-20 amps, less than most 30/50 amp RV's!
  • We use a MUTT to test towables. This helps verify that the wiring that would connect to the tow vehicle works properly.
  • We use a R-134A gauge. Most competitors just run the air conditioning and verify it's cool. We verify the correct pressure!
  • We work for YOU! We've seen many cases where competitors are worried that a dealership might thing negatively about an inspector who reports too many bad things. We're absolutely independent, and do everything to provide as much information as possible. If the RV is in poor enough condition, a good dealership will take it off the lot, as they would not want to sell a bad RV to one of their customers.

Inspection Pricing

We use a unique approach to pricing which we feel is most fair to our clients. Our pricing is based on a "Tip to Tail" measurement of your RV. Most competitors will charge a single flat fee's associated with the RV type, and typically based the largest length of that type.

Our pricing allows for every RV to be priced fairly. We'll only charge you for the amount of RV you have :-) .

The "Tip to Tail" length is based on the length of the RV from one end to the other when the RV is in it's camping state. Meaning, any pop-out beds, or rear slides that extend the length of the RV would be included in the "Tip to Tail" length.
